Staff

Our staff is an integral part of our team. We expect and encourage our staff to work cooperatively with each other, and with our lawyers, all with the goal of providing the highest quality legal work and exceptional client service. Our staff is particularly knowledgeable and experienced — many of them have been with us for a decade or far more.

We currently have seven highly qualified paralegals, doing litigation support, real estate, and business work, ranging from simple title searches to management of complex class action litigation. One paralegal (out of only seven in the entire state of Vermont) has achieved the prestigious PACE Registered Paralegal designation through the National Federation of Paralegal Associations.

Our legal assistants are well-informed of the matters on which the lawyers are working, and frequently assist clients if a lawyer is unavailable. They provide accurate, dependable, and high quality support to our lawyers and clients. Many of them perform paralegal work as well.

Our administrative staff is headed by our business manager, Richard Dorfman, who can be reached at rdorfman@langrock.com. We have a network administrator, who ensures that we have the latest in document management and litigation support technology. We also have two bookkeepers, who can assist clients with any billing questions they may have.

Our receptionists — like the rest of our staff — are friendly, helpful, and courteous. These values are so important to us that we, as a firm, have adopted the following Statement of Shared Principles:

Our primary goal is to provide excellent legal service to our clients. We recognize that only when we work effectively together as a team can we accomplish this goal. To that end, the staff and attorneys should conduct ourselves in accordance with the following principles:

  • To treat each other with respect and kindness, even in times of stress.
  • To create and maintain a work environment that values teamwork and cooperation in accomplishing our work responsibilities, and recognizes and acknowledges everyone’s contribution to the success of the firm.
  • To create and maintain a work environment that is friendly, inclusive, challenging and fun, while recognizing people’s differences and the fact that our work is often stressful.
  • To encourage open and direct communication, and to convert negative criticism into positive, constructive comments.
  • To create and maintain a work environment that fosters individuality and creativity.
  • To conduct ourselves ethically and professionally in our interactions with each other, our clients, and the public.
