Middlebury:

Our lawyers frequently represent clients who have been injured at work. We help clients understand their rights under our workers’ compensation laws and navigate the Department of Labor & Industry process. We also represent clients in trials or appeals to the Vermont Supreme Court. We are committed to working with our clients to ensure that they obtain the benefits to which they are entitled by law.

Among other things, we can assist with the following issues:

Temporary Disability Benefits
A person who is totally or partially disabled from work due to a work injury may be temporarily entitled to weekly benefits to help make up for lost income.
Permanent Disability Benefits
A person who has suffered permanent injury as a result of a work injury may be entitled to permanent partial disability benefits, or permanent total disability benefits.
Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits
A person who is physically unable to do his or her old job or comparable jobs as a result of a work injury may be entitled to vocational assistance.
Medical Benefits
A person with a work injury may be entitled to payment for reasonable and necessary medical expenses resulting from the injury, including mileage reimbursement.
Return To Work Issues
A person out of work due to a work injury may be entitled to return to the first available and suitable position with the employer.
Retaliation And Discrimination
It is generally unlawful for an employer to retaliate or discriminate against someone for filing a workers’ compensation claim.
Claims Against Third Parties
If an injury was the result of negligence on the part of someone other than the employer, there may be a legal claim against that third party.
