Joselson to Present at VTAJ Annual Conference
Langrock attorney Emily Joselson, the current President of the Vermont Association for Justice, will preside at the Annual Meeting before be passing the gavel to the new president on Friday, May 18. She will also be presenting a seminar on how to recover fair compensation for clients in civil jury trials. Thanks to Emily for all her hard work over the past year.

Langrock attorneys Chris Davis and Hobart Popick are presenting on legal ethics at the Annual Meeting of the Chittenden County Bar Association on June 14. The presentation, entitled "Who Wants to Be An Ethical Billionaire," promises to be both fun and informative. Langrock attorneys Susan Murray, Hobart Popick and Alexia Venafra will be panelists at the Vermont Association for Justice’s Second Annual Family Law Conference, entitled “The Long & Winding Road: Changing Perspectives on Vermont Family Law.” Other panelists include the Honorable Colleen Brown, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Vermont, and the Honorable Amy Davenport and the Honorable Thomas Devine of the Vermont Superior Court. Ellen Mercer Fallon presents at the NYSCHA/NECHA 2011 Annual Meeting
The New York State College Health Association (NYSCHA) and the New England College Health Association (NECHA) held their combined annual meeting in Saratoga Springs, New York. College health officers and other college administrators attended educational programming designed to keep them abreast of current issues in college and university health.
Ellen Mercer Fallon, a partner in the law firm of Langrock Sperry &Wool, Middlebury and Burlington, Vermont, co-presented “Ethics, Confidentiality and FERPA.” Ms. Fallon’s portion of the presentation covered the confidentiality requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) and its relationship to ethical standards for health professionals, state law, and HIPAA, with a focus on practical and strategic advice.
Ellen has practiced higher education law for 25 years, providing advice on all aspects of higher education, training faculty, staff, and students to ensure legal compliance; drafting contracts, financing documents, handbooks, and other documents; and managing incidents and disputes.

Tischler Discusses Estate Planning with Elders
Sarah Gentry Tischler spoke as part of the Spring Lecture Series at The Lodge at Otter Creek Senior Living Community in Middlebury. She spoke with residents there regarding estate planning and administration, helping people plan for a peaceful, efficient and economical management of their affairs upon incapacity or at death, and helping survivors administer personal and financial matters after the loss of a loved one.

Shelkrot and Otero Present on Civil Liberties
Lisa Shelkrot and Wanda Otero were presenters at the fifth annual Bill of Rights 101 conference. Sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Vermont, the conference is designed to bring civil liberties issues to life for high school seniors in the St. Albans area. Lisa led a workshop on Privacy In a Wired Age, and Wanda led a workshop on Student Searches and In-School Discipline for Off-Campus Activities.
