Burlington Office Sarah joined Langrock Sperry & Wool in 2006, having practiced in Chittenden County for the prior fifteen years. She began her legal career in 1987 at Hemenway & Barnes in Boston, Massachusetts, where she developed her focus in estate planning. Upon returning to her hometown of St. George, Vermont, in 1991, Sarah continued her estate planning work with Dinse, Erdmann & Clapp in Burlington. She opened her own firm in 1996, and practiced for the last six years in Williston. Sarah continues to dedicate her practice to estate planning, charitable giving, and the administration of estates and trusts, with a particular focus on long-term succession planning for family and forest lands. She speaks frequently on these subjects to and on behalf of local community groups and non-profit organizations, as well as state-wide in professional continuing education seminars. Active in the community, Sarah currently serves as a director of the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association, and has served as St. George Town Meeting moderator for the last eight years. She is an engaged parent volunteer with Circus Smirkus, Lyric Theatre, and the CVU High School Drama Program, as well as a parent representative on the CVU School Boards Auditorium Renovation Committee. Prior non-profit work includes board directorships with the Visiting Nurse Association, the Essex Childrens Choir, the Vermont Childrens Trust Foundation, and the St. George and Chittenden South Supervisory Union School Boards, as well as hands-on service and membership on planned giving, endowment, and capital campaign committees for a number of area non-profits. At home in St. George, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, their pets, and her livestock, all of whom especially enjoy sharing the surrounding fields and forests with the neighboring land owners (her parents). |
