Middlebury Office Mitch joined Langrock Sperry & Wool in 1989 after clerking for the Hon. Franklin S. Billings, Jr., Chief Judge, U.S. District Court, District of Vermont. His practice focuses on a broad variety of litigation matters, small business and real estate transactions, and civil rights cases. He has developed a United States Supreme Court practice, having filed a number of petitions with the high court, including the successful petition for certiorari and the merits briefs in Randall v. Sorrell. Mitch also handles legal matters for a number of not-for-profit organizations and regularly represents disabled Vermonters in Social Security hearings. Mitch was awarded the David W. Curtis Civil Liberties Award in 1999 by the Vermont Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. He is a member of the Vermont Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Public Access to Court Records. Mitch lives in Brandon with his wife and three children. He is active in local affairs, and served two terms as chair of the Brandon Town School Board. |
