Burlington Office Chris joined Langrock Sperry & Wool in 1992 after a number of years practicing with Gear & Davis, Inc. in Burlington, Vermont. His practice focuses on family, civil and criminal litigation, as well as personal injury law. He handles real estate transactions, as well as foreclosures and commercial litigation for various lending institutions. He frequently serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and evaluator for both the state and federal courts. Chris is the former chair of the Vermont Judicial Conduct Board, having served on the board for 9 years. He has been an adjunct professor of Business Law at the University of Vermont for over thirty years. He is a past member and vice-chair of the Vermont Professional Conduct Board, and past chair of the Supreme Court Ad-hoc Committee on the Adoption of the Model Rules of Professional Responsibility. Chris is a frequent lecturer on issues in family law and legal ethics. In 2007 Chris was named by New England Super Lawyers as one of Vermont's top divorce lawyers. He has also been recognized for the past three years as a leading family law attorney in the Best Lawyers in America. Chris is a formerly nationally-ranked rugby referee, and continues to travel throughout the United States and Canada to referee matches and to train fellow referees. He co-founded the Burlington Rugby Football Club and remains an avid player. When the rugby fields are covered with snow, Chris is on his skis in the mountains. Chris lives with his wife and two sons in South Burlington. |
