Boys and Girls Club Selected for Prestigious Award

LS&W is pleased to announce that the New England Board of Higher Education (NEHBE) has chosen the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington as the recipient of its 2008 Robert J. McKenna Award for Program Achievement. Each year NEBHE honors one program through its annual New England Higher Education Excellence Awards.

The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) launched the New England Higher Education Excellence Awards in 2003 to recognize individuals and institutions that have made substantive contributions to improving higher education opportunities for New England students. NEBHE’s mission is to promote greater educational opportunity for residents of New England at the region’s 270 public and independent colleges and universities. Individuals and organizations nominated during the selection process that begins in the fall exemplify NEBHE’s mission through their accomplishments.

The Boys and Girls Club received the award for its KnowHow2Go Program, a unique college readiness program for underprivileged youth. The Club was selected for the award over forty-seven other programs. LS&W partner Michael Wool serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club and was instrumental both in creating the KnowHow2Go Program, and in securing this prestigious honor from NEBHE.
